TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My first 10 years of being a music educator, I taught elementary music and loved it! However, I wanted a change and taught high school choral music for 20 years! Well, I retired, got bored, and I am back in the elementary classroom trying to find and/or come up with engaging lessons. My first year back in elementary school TpT was a God send! So, when there were lessons I could not find to purchase, I decided to make my own. So, here I am!!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in combining the Kodaly and Orff styles of teaching in the elementary music classroom However, I am also teaching General Music to 7th and 8th graders who have not had much, if ANY, musical instruction in the classroom. So, I am having to try to figure out lessons that can expand through the different age groups so I am not planning 8 separate lesson plans plus trying to learn how to teach on line. I am with you!
