Sarah's STEAMers

I have been teaching for 18 years. I began my career at a Waldorf-inspired school as a support teacher for a first grade class, then moved with them to second grade. I then taught first grade for five years at a title one charter school, followed by one year in fifth grade at the same school. I then taught four years at a MAST magnet school. I taught first and second grades. I was also their magnet coordinator for two years as well as the intervention teacher. I worked at my former school as the Art and Engineering Specialist where I taught K-5 grades daily. I currently teach 3rd grade at a magnet school for LEAD (Leadership, Engineering, Art, and Design)

I love hands-on activities for my students. Art and Engineering allows for SO much hands-on activities. I love being a facilitator style instructor. I give them the materials, the constraints, and the opportunities to imagine, create, and learn. What a fantastic way of teaching!

I enjoy singing, laughing, telling stories and jokes, playing music with my family, writing, traveling, watercolor painting, and teaching.
