TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I just finished my sixth year of teaching 1st grade. This year I will be moving up to 3rd grade. I have learned so much from my little ones. We continue to grow and learn together.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Teaching is truly one of my biggest passions in life. I am always learning and trying out new things in my classroom. I love teaching my students how to be life long learners. One of our classroom motto's is that "Mistakes help us learn." I want my students to feel comfortable and safe when they are at school. This year I tried out flexible classroom seating. I got a variety of seats like yoga balls, crate seats, stools, bouncy bands on chairs, pillows, bean bags, a standing desk and rugs. I LOVE IT! My kiddos love it. I wish I would've have started doing this years ago. I will never go back to assigned seats. In my classroom we do the Daily 5 along with the districts' ELA curriculum. For math I recently switched to a guided math curriculum and my students and I absolutely love it! Like I said I am always learning and growing.
