TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently a high school history teacher and college museum studies professor, but I have had many different experiences working in education. I have taught in social studies classes in grades 8-12. I had the wonderful opportunity to complete part of my student teaching in the Dominican Republic, which was a great experience in working with another culture. I worked as a Teacher Cadet in a 2nd grade classroom for a year. I was previously the Education Director at a children's museum where I mainly taught hands-on science to students in preschool though 4th grade. I was also the lead teacher for an elementary age science camp and taught Lego engineering courses.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that the best way to teach and learn is to experience topics in a hands-on way. It is so much more fun to keep students engaged when they are enjoying the lesson!
