Rodriguez- Little wishful things

I started teaching in daycare centers as my summer jobs when I was only 12 years old. I enjoyed children back then. When I went off to college at 15, I started working as a teacher's assistant in juvenile detention centers. I was working on my associates degree in psychology and I taught reading and math to juvenile runaways. While working on my BS degree, I worked 5 years in the day care system with 3-5 years olds. Finally I began working with students in a special school. I have been fortunate to be there for over 25 years now.

I am a bilingual state certified teacher and I have found my second language to be an asset in my teaching. I have navigated my way around learning how to use a computer and all the programs available for them. I use it as a teaching tool and I try to teach my students everything they want to learn about using computers.

I have been a member of Kappa Delta Pi since 1991 and have complete my 30 above my masters. I have taken two classes in sign language and I love to teach my students poems and song through signing.

I have my masters in elementary education with an extension in bilingual education.I am state certified to teach any grade from prek to 8th grade.

I really enjoy working on the computer and creating new activities for my students to learn with. I am always sharing ideas with my colleagues and they convinced me to publish some of these ideas.
