TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught in a variety of classrooms and settings: as an English teacher at a High School in Le Mans, France; a youth care worker with teens in residential treatment; a student teacher in a self-contained special education classroom; and as a Resource Room teacher. I taught Special Education in the Resource Room, at Title 1 schools, for 5 years. This school year I began teaching English Language Development at a Title 1 Middle School. Check out my Blog! MY TEACHING STYLE

Many students are unable to access their education because of behavior and as a result my teaching style is both very structured and favors positive rewards and praise. I believe in explicitly telling a child what they we are learning, what the behavior expectations are etc, and molding my instruction around their abilities and needs. As a special education teacher, my instruction is always driven by data and as a result I have created a number of ways to collect that data.
