I want to make a difference in this world. I want to be a voice for good in the chaos and confusion; a light in the darkness. Aside from parents, teachers have had the greatest impact on my life and the person I have become. They have given me direction and guidance, counsel and support. The impact of a teacher is monumental in the development of a child. Whitney Houston sang, “I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way.” This ideal is truer now than ever before. We live in a time of political unrest and moral ambiguity. It is our responsibility to teach the children what is right and what is good. We need to teach good morals and principles. We must educate the older generations as well, for they are role models and examples to the youth. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” This must be our goal: to light the world, one life at a time. My classroom is hands-on, engaging, and differentiated to meet the needs of all students. I believe in making learning fun, yet challenging for all students.
