I have been teaching through a collaborative lens of the Reggio Emilia Approach, Emergent Curriculum, and the process of partnering with children and parents through a co-constructed curriculum for the past 15 years. As a life-long learner, I have studied the various interpretations of these approaches and presented my knowledge, process, and project work/daily life in the classroom multiple times at Visitation Day Events, hosted at my school, as well as state-wide and national conferences.
Partnering with my educational team to educate and care for young children while fostering their individual growth and development through open-ended experiences, facilitated learning opportunities that take into account the developmental levels of all children using a variety of teaching strategies to enhance their learning and development. I create and maintain a clean and well-organized environment that responds to the children's interests, ensuring a sense of wonder and love of learning, which fosters maximum physical, social, cognitive and emotional development. Additionally, I believe in developing regular, on-going, two-way communication with families about children's experiences, development, and learning.
