I come from a family of 12 teachers, many of them physical educators. I am a teacher in the Oregon Public School system. I am also a former collegiate athlete and I coach high school basketball and baseball. I like to believe I bring a lot of energy on a daily basis to the classroom, I really do believe that students feed off of the teachers energy level and it can change the dynamics of a classroom. I believe I have a knack for creating lessons and utilizing unique strategies to enhance student engagement and student organization in the classroom. I have had great success with the lessons and strategies that I have created and I believe that others can too. Pyramid Education refers to the creation of lessons and strategies that engage students socially, emotionally as well as physically. Having the ability to create and use lessons that tap into all three of these domains is essential in creating a classroom where students feel safe, respected and ready to learn more.
