I have been a teacher for 12 years now and within the last two years have switched my teaching method from traditional language learning to comprehensible input. I am currently at a small, private school but I have also taught in a large, urban, public school for years.
I use comprehensible input instead of language learning. I got sick of hearing people say "I took (fill in the blank language) for 3 years in high school and I can't remember any of it." I want my students to gain usable language skills that will stick with them for years, and I truly think that comprehensible input is the way to do that. I also do not use a textbook, so I have had to develop lots of resources for my classes on my own.
