During 17 years as an educator, I've taught grades K-3, worked as a reading specialist, and a private school administrator. First grade is my true love :)
I strive to create a fun and caring classroom that allows all of my students to reach their potential. I feel it is important to vary teaching strategies and classroom activities to respond to different learning styles and to keep those firsties engaged!
My highest honor is being a mother, wife, and teacher. For my Bachelor's degree, I graduated Cum Laude, was voted Most Likely to Succeed by my college peers, and received the Christian Education Departmental Award.
Bachelor's in Christian Education; M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction w/ PreK-3 License; K-12 Reading Endorsement; Ed.S. in Administration w/ Elementary Principal's License
I grew up in Georgia, went to college in North Carolina, and ended up in Ohio! I journey as an educator began as a Christian Education director for a church and administrator of their Christian School. I went back for my Master's and public teaching license and have been in the same district since. I love watching young children become readers, writers, mathematicians, and creative problem solvers. I can't think of a better job! At home, I am very blessed with a wonderful husband, a daughter, a son, four bonus sons (a.k.a. step-sons), a cat, and two dogs. As you can imagine, there is never a dull moment!
