I have eighteen years experience teaching Social Studies at the High School Level. (Ten years as Social Studies Department Chair). I have twelve years experience teaching at the college level for Chattanooga State Community College. I specialize in both classroom and online education.

I prefer to teach using as many visual and audio resources as possible. I bombard my students with a plethora of learning resources in an effort to reach all types of learners. Regardless of whether a student is a visual, auditory or hands-on learner, my resources are designed to hit all learners at a variety different learning levels. I like to teach with videos, songs and pictures. My favorite teaching method is intense Socratic Seminars after students have learned some basic factual information. However, I also like to use debate, problem solving and project based learning as well.

I was elected Southeast Tennessee Teacher of the Year. I have been voted Grundy County High School Teacher of the year three times by the student body. I was presented with the Grundy County High School Teacher of the Year Award by Administration. I have served and currently serve as a County Commissioner for Grundy County, Tennessee (10 Years).
