TEACHING EXPERIENCE

37 AMAZING years in education. In addition to being a guidance counselor I am a certified yoga instructor and the author of several social emotional books for children.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Begin the year by planning monthly life skill themes. An annual counseling calendar gives direction for a comprehensive curriculum. Use these themes to teach proactive life skill lessons that support ALL students. Begin each lesson with breathing and stretching strategies to release wiggles and calm the nervous system. Teach children to change negative thoughts to positive self-talk. The year is planned out on the Powerful You website.
