I have been teaching third grade for 10 years and I'm loving it. I've been working vigorously on creating resources that allow my students to discover their own learning, while at the same time, maintaining structure and classroom behavior.
I believe in a high-praise/high-structure classroom. I design materials that facilitate whole-group, small group, and individual activities. Learning is a social activity that students should be excited to be a part of each day.
I was named 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year for my school! It was such an honor to be recognized by my peers.
I attended Furman University for my undergraduate and graduate degrees.
