By Portuguese for Kids About the Host Vivian Dixon is originally from Brazil. She received her MA in linguistics (TESOL), and her Ph.D. from the College of Education, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, University of Illinois, United States. For more than 15 years, she has worked with second language learners and taught children, teenagers, and adults in variety of group sizes and levels, in both multi-national classrooms and multi-language courses. She has taught Portuguese, English, and courses in bilingual education. Here, you will find a mix of her teaching experiences, her work in the community combined with her own life experience of raising a bilingual child.
