MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Hunter College, New York - United States Air Force Community College

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Born and raised in Brooklyn (Bedford-Stuyvesant), New York, Maurice Haskins is a proud parent, concerned citizen, and a talented producer, director and songwriter. As CEO and creative director for Haskins Communications, Maurice has produced numerous television and radio commercials, special projects, and other creative undertakings for various companies for over a decade. As a child in Brooklyn, he witnessed so much...too much. As an adult, he did something about it. Maurice became and was a highly recognized law enforcement officer and social actions specialist in the United States Air Force. His history of working with law enforcement and children was a natural fit leading to his safety and crime prevention program concept over two decades ago. His career in law enforcement recognized him as “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year” twice along with other law enforcement accolades. In addition to speaking activities while in charge of police community relations and crime prevention, he sponsored such programs as “Officer McGruff”, a youth fingerprint program, and other child safety events. After serving his country, Maurice continued for many more years as an investigator and security consultant. It was always the projects with a social cause that inspired Maurice Haskins. He has always found time to work on projects involving both law enforcement and children, including a project nationally recognized for its efforts against drinking and driving for teens that was implemented in every high school in the state of Georgia by the Governor’s Department of Highway Safety. Through the years, Maurice maintained a team of educators, law enforcement professionals and parents to enhance the program’s effectiveness. Today's technology has also played a major role in it's completion, results and distribution. It took some time…but we feel we got it right!
