I've been working and helping students with special needs at the middle school level for thirteen years to achieve their academic endeavors. I've seen that children with special needs can not only overcome their disabilities but thrive in and out of a class setting. In my years of working with the special needs population, I've received the highest honor of being a mentor and influencing the minds and hearts of students who've crossed my path in a positive manner. My biggest achievement has not been the result of a test score but the interactions of students who've embraced me years later off school grounds with laughter and pride. I know true education is never in the moment but years later when your teachings are felt by those who once sat in your classes or interacted with you on a personal level. I will continue to educate and shape the minds and hearts of the next generation of scholars and open their minds to a world of learning.
I prefer the facilitator’s teaching style, providing my students with a warm and more emotional climate. I focus on teacher-student interaction on a personal level. My students are encouraged to ask questions and problem-solve to become efficient learners. I’m also data-driven and hands-on with my teaching style.
