I have been teaching for 19 years. I spent the first 7 years of my teaching career bouncing around with grade levels and subject areas before settling down in early childhood. Of the last 12 years, 7 were spent in 1st grade and the last 5 in my "dream job" of Mathematics Interventionist in a Pre-K through 2nd grade building. I work a little with kindergarten and 1st grade but primarily with 2nd grade students. I not only service the "struggling" learner but I also welcome special education students.
Mostly tactile/kinesthetic. I love teaching with hands-on activities as well as with music and movement. Since it is estimated that 99% of struggling learners are this modality and the fact that the younger the child is, the more they need tactile/kinesthetic activities, this works wonderfully for my students.

I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I am certified in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and am pursuing the Oklahoma Elementary Mathematics Specialist certification.
I prefer simplicity in forms, spreadsheets and worksheets. In my school teachers are limited on how many copies we make, so the more "content" I put on each page, the fewer copies I need to make. Therefore I concentrate on the "business at hand" first, and if space allows I add graphics, clipart and décor.
