From an early age I knew that teaching was my destiny. I have taught Pre-K through 8th grade, but have found my home in the 5th grade. After college i taught around the world English e to children and adults. I love of technology land integrate as much as possible. For me, learning is a life long endeavor. I model it daily in my classroom, inspiring my students to be life-long learners as well.
I use a Project Based learning model for most of my lessons. With this I mean that the studnets learn the required skills not in isolation, but rather as part of a project they create or a simulation in which they participate. The key to a successful classroom is to differentiated instruction. There is no such thing as a cookie-cutter lesson. Each student is unique bringing their own gifts into the room. I strive to empower my students to be independent thinkers and inspire them to be positive forces in the world. My classroom: organized-yet spontaneous, nurturing-yet structured, challenging-yet relaxed. My students: know that I believe in each of them and that they can reach/surpass their individual goals. As a class we are a supportive unit.
