TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began teaching in 2010 and have taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Most of my career has been in Middle School, and I love it! Visit me at oneteachersadventures.blogspot.ca or www.facebook.com/oneteachersadventurestpt

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy being challenged by my students. I encourage students to think and question and engage me and each other. I put a big emphasis on critical thinking. I love to incorporate humour into my teaching.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I grew up in the same district I am teaching in now. I did my first practicum at my elementary school, and it was very strange to go into the school as a student teacher! The first time I went into the staff room, I still felt like I wasn't allowed in there! Now that I have been working, I feel very supported as a teacher in my district as many of my colleagues were former teachers of mine!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I live in Victoria, BC, Canada. I love to travel, although I haven't done as much of it as I'd like. I am a very proud auntie to three niblings!
