TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught high school English and journalism classes for seven years to grades 9-12. Courses taught: - English Grade 9 - Creative Writing - 21st Century Journalism - Magazine Production - Yearbook Production - Audio/Video Production Fundamentals - Photo Imaging - Digital Media Technology (I've also taught 6th grade humanities as a permanent sub in my early years in education.)

MY TEACHING STYLE

My students know that I run an organized, structured classroom and are prepared to take spontaneous brain breaks during class as needed. My mission as a secondary education instructor was to foster student creativity while helping them become high level thinkers who are college/career ready. Students in my classes became stronger writers, designers, and photographers by using industry standard technology combined with rigorous instruction. A recent employee formal evaluation showed exemplary marks in eight areas including instructional skills, classroom management, and personal competencies.
