I (Karen) trained and worked as a typesetter and a layout artist in Richmond, Va., followed by 5 years in the IT Dept. of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce where I learned most of my computer skills. I took 12 years off to stay home with my kids while my husband was active duty in the Air Force. I returned to work in the public school system and joined forces with Wendy to combine my technical abilities with her inspiring classroom ideas. This is my 14th year working in elementary schools and I love it. Currently I (Wendy) am in my 17th year of teaching general music. Twelve of those years have been in a K-5 building and now a k-2 building. I have run choir, drama, and scrap-booking clubs. Karen is an unbelievably talented person and provides the designs to my musical activities/ideas.
I use a bit of everything in my teaching style and am always learning! Kodaly and Orff methods are used often in my classroom along with the works of Fieraband, Gange, and Almeida.
