I have been teaching since 1999. I taught 1st grade for 2 years, 4th grade for 1 year, and all of my remaining years in teaching have been in kindergarten. I have enjoyed teaching all of these grade levels but kindergarten is where my heart and passion lies.
I stive to make teaching and learning as fun and interactive as possible. My main purpose in teaching is building positive relationships with my students and creating an environment where the love of learning blooms and grows.
I have been nominated for teacher of the year on more than one occasion. I have also been a teacher of excellence finalist within National Heritage Academies nationwide school systems on 2 different occassions thoughout my carrer.
I attended the following schools: Baker College-Flint and University of Michigan-Flint I have my master's degree and my teaching certificate has endorecements for both early childhood education and literacy k-12.
I love my job and my life. I am a wife, mother of three, and grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren. I have been published in The Michigan Reading Journal, The Mailbox, and The Helping Hand which is a newsletter for The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (My son is a brain tumor survivor.)
