I have taught music my entire adult life. I taught in the public schools for 25 years and at the local university for 13 years. Private music lessons have always been my favorite! I also have been a substitute teacher for all grade levels.
I like to keep the pace moving in a classroom. Music should be fun and rewarding for the student as they achieve. Rewarding the student as they advance helps the student have confidence in themselves and their creative talents. I like teaching group classes for my private students to involve them in music games, ensemble playing, performance techniques, and group learning. As the pandemic unfolded, distant learning was added to my teaching experiences.
Yet to be added
Well, I've been there and done that. Life is for learning. I hope to continue learning, for the rest of my life.
I believe that music teaching should be interesting and inspirational, full of fun and emotions.
