Music and Drama with Mrs Mockenhaupt

I am certified in K-12 general music, vocal music, and theatre education. I have a passion for directing plays and musicals. I have most classroom experience with middle school students though I have directed choirs and taught drama camps with all K-12 age groups. My store resources are straight from my classroom! Fun Fact: I have held teaching licenses in K-12 Music & K-12 Theatre in Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and Minnesota! I am currently teaching 6th and 7th grade choir.

I believe in a student-centered classroom and that building relationships with my students is the key to success. I love working creatively with my students on shows, scenes, songs, etc. I love to see them challenge themselves, think critically, and self-reflect on their acting and musical choices in order for them to feel stronger and more confident.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with a Bachelors Degree in K-12 Vocal Classroom Music and General Music as well as Bachelors Degree in K-12 Theatre Arts Education. I also have received Level 1 Kodaly Certification from the University of Oklahoma. I am currently working on a graduate degree from the University of St. Thomas in Choral Music Education.

I love to go on walks with my dog Luna, see plays and musicals, hang out with my cute husband Dan, and musical theatre jam on the piano/ukulele.
