By Ms Jojos Literacy Wonderland I have 15 years experience in an urban school district. I began as a Title 1 teacher and then moved on to teaching 4th grade for 8 years. I have been teaching 1st grade for the last 6 years. The switch to 1st grade was quite the shock, but it ´ s the best thing that has happened to me as a teacher. It is amazing to see the growth, specifically in reading, you see in a short period of time. It was challenging for me in the beginning because when I was moved to 1st, there was very little professional development to go with the transfer. I am grateful for my colleagues and professionals like you that continue to share their experiences, best tips and practices, and resources to help our students. Thank you for visiting my page.

2021 Teacher of the Year
I graduated with a BA in Sociology. I worked as a Sales Manager in the Hospitality Industry for 8 years before going through the alternate route program. I now have a masters in Teaching and Learning with a concentration in Elementary Reading.
