TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Throughout my eight year tenure as a Special Education Teacher, I have worked with many diverse groups of students with varying learning needs. My extensive experience has equipped me with the skills needed to create engaging and adaptive lesson plans tailored to students’ abilities. I am well-versed in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans that include SMART goals and present levels of performance. I am able to foster academic and social growth while addressing the unique challenges that each student faces. As well, I also have a deep understanding of Special Education laws and regulations. I am adept at navigating the legal framework, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements, and advocating for the rights of my students. My commitment to staying updated with the latest research and evidence based practices further enhances my ability to provide high quality education and support. Furthermore, I have seven years experience analyzing data in order to leverage best practices and strategies to close the achievement gap with knowledge about planning projects to differentiate instruction with a creative lens, supporting scaffolded instruction for neurodiverse learners, utilizing educational technology to promote individualized learning and targeted instruction, immersing students in subject material, and promoting continuous skill-building-all while giving students full agency and autonomy over their learning environment.
