TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my eleventh year teaching in the heart of New York City. I worked on piloting the Common Core Standards before they were adopted on a national level. Since then, I have spent a lot of time creating my own social studies, literacy, and math curriculum that is aligned to the standards for my own use, and have created units for teachers in New York City public schools to use as well. I have experience teaching 5th grade (all subjects) as well as teaching 5th and 6th grade Social Studies in a departmentalized structure. I taught for nine years at a Talented and Gifted School in Manhattan, and am now teaching at a progressive school on the Upper East Side. I am a proud product of the New York City school system myself. All items on my TPT account have been tested and tried in my own classroom.
