TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am in my 13th year of teaching, and I love it! I am currently teaching a class of highly gifted 2nd graders, and have previously taught 1st grade, kindergarten and 3rd grade. I have a couple of published articles, have been involved in writing curriculum for our district, and have taught professional development sessions on GT strategies in my district.

MY TEACHING STYLE

In my classroom, I do as much as I can to have the students working together. Especially in math, I feel that real learning occurs when students are talking about their thinking. Now that I am teaching a class of highly gifted students, I see how important challenging my students is. I include critical thinking, creativity and depth anywhere and everywhere I can.
