I've been an honors ELA, speech, debate, and oral interp teacher for three years. I coach our high school's national award-winning debate team and help with drama. I'm also the founder of a small theatre company that provides education opportunities and private lessons for teens in our community. I have a deep passion for working with individuals with disabilities. I was the Education Program Coordinator for a theatre company that specialized in making the arts accessible for all abilities.
Because my degrees are not in education, I find that I have an outsider's approach to teaching. I love exploration and motivation. I try to nurture an open environment where students can question, extend, and cultivate their education on their own terms. I try my best to create content that creates in-depth critical thinking, conversation, and emotional learning. My favorite thing about teaching English is that we learn how to be humans through poetry, literature, and writing.
