I have experience teaching Biology (General Education and Inclusion), Chemistry (General Education and Inclusion), Physical Science (General Education and Inclusion), Physics (Honors), Zoology (General Education and Inclusion), AP Environmental Science, Environmental Science, and Marine Ecology. I also have experience writing content in AP Environmental Science, Research, Biology, and Physical Science.
I use a combination of self-created PowerPoints, hands-on labs, and self-created practice problem sets (for physics, chemistry, and physical science) to teach my students. This style has proven very effective, as my students are consistently among the top-scoring in my school and district on state standardized tests. In 2014, I flipped my physics class, creating videos, guided notes, problem sets, labs, and checklists for each unit in Physics. These are available individually, as self-contained units, and as a year-long physics curriculum. In 2015, I did the same for my AP environmental science course, but kids and life happened and I haven't yet been able to migrate these resources to a TPT-friendly format.

I am a marine ecologist turned science teacher. In my 14 years of teaching, I have taught Chemistry, Physical Science, Biology, Zoology, Physics, Research II, on-level Environmental Science, and AP Environmental Science. I have designed a pacing guide and curriculum around the Georgia Performance Standards for each of my classes. Many textbook and online labs/lessons do not provide the level of rigor and inquiry that I require in my classes, so I often design my own labs and lessons.
