TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Learning Assistant/Tutor for Business Calculus, Honors Calculus II and remedial math at the University of Akron for 3 years. Substitute for Beachwood City Schools. Summer School Geometry teacher for Maplewood Career Center. Math teacher for 6 years at Streetsboro High School. Instructional Consultant for STEM the past 2 years at the Mahoning County Educational Service Center. TPA evaluator for Youngstown State University.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in the teaching students to ask good questions. I'm a big advocate for teachers becoming facilitators of learning rather than the keeper of knowledge. Project-based, problem-based and performance-based instruction is something that can be done at all levels. Some lessons don't lend themselves nicely to these methods, but all teachers should strive to get more lessons created this way. I love interdisciplinary items.
