I teach 7th grade World Geography at Mount Union Area Junior High School in central Pennsylvania. I began teaching at Mount Union in 2014. As a student teacher, I taught 7th grade Civics and Government and 11th grade Modern U.S. History in the Susquenita School District in Duncannon, PA.
I believe that social studies is the study of living in the world, so my goal as a teacher is to provide my students with learning experiences rather than with a lot of notes and information to memorize.
Shippensburg University Teacher Education Award (Secondary) - PA Alliance for Geographic Education December 2015 Teacher Spotlight
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in History from Shippensburg University in 2014 and a MEd in Instructional Media from Wilkes University in 2020.
I love hunting, fishing, playing drums, bicycling, and woodworking when I'm not teaching. I also love to read history books, biographies, memoirs, fantasy books, and adventure stories.
