I've taught for ten years in classrooms from grades K-9 in the US, Mexico, and South Korea, always with students who were learning new languages. I specialize in teaching kids to love multilingualism!
Cooperative learning, integrative thematic units, biliteracy/multiliteracy, student-driven inquiry-based learning, and multicultural perspectives dominate my teaching style.
Early in my career, I was selected as a Chicago Public Schools Summer Fellow, and participated in policy discussions with then-Mayor Daley, and then-CPS Executive Officer Arne Duncan.
I received my B.A. in Elementary Education from University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Trinity TEFL certificate from Oxford House in Barcelona.
Wife to my partner in global adventure, mom of two expert air travelers, hopeless polyglot and avid coffee drinker.
