TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught various grades at both the middle school and high school levels over the past 19 years. My concentration is ELA, though I am certified Special Education as well. However, my love for writing, reading, and curriculum development will keep me as a core teacher in the classroom forever.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy getting my students interacting and working together on cooperative assignments and projects. The year of Covid has changed my teaching considerably, and has also inspired me to recreate many of my lessons to a digital format - also bringing me here to TpT. My goal is to continue to use the digital platform, but to also create more opportunities for students to collaborate and be active in the classroom as well. Stay tuned!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Awarded Teacher of the Year for our PACS Middle School in 2017.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my teaching certificate for English and Secondary Education from SUNY Brockport, and continued my education at LeMoyne University, receiving a Masters Degree and second teaching certificate in the area of Special Education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a teacher, a volleyball coach, a director to our school's gardening club, a mother to four children, a singer/songwriter violinist with my husband - you name it, I'm doing it. I'm soaking up as much of life as I can get while I'm here. Thanks for joining in the journey :)
