TEACHING EXPERIENCE

1 Year teaching at American Heritage of South Jordan, an elite prek-12th grade private school in Utah. At American Heritage, I taught History and Language Arts at the middle school level. I gave Latin and Spanish classes to 6th-12th graders. I also gave weekly Spanish lessons to prek-3rd grade. English teaching in Guatemala for 2 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that each student has the ability to succeed when they have teachers who care about them and encourage them to do their best. Each individual learns differently. Therefore, in my teaching, I try to create lessons that can easily be adapted for each unique student and classroom.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My students once gave me a plastic Oscar-type award that they got at the dollar store and pasted "Best Teacher Award" on it....Does that count? It's the only award I can think of, but it's also the only one I need.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor's of Science degree from Utah state University. Major: English with a teaching emphasis Minor: School Library Media and History. Fluent in Spanish

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm a strong believer in life-long learning. I have a passion for the written word. I love history, reading, creative writing, and of course, teaching.
