I'm going on my 6th year of teaching preschool special education. I teach ages 3 to 5. I've taught a wide range of students with disabilities. Before being a special education teacher, I was s lead infant teacher at a day care. In 2014, I was a 1:1 aide is a special education classroom. This is where my book writing began as I used Clicker 6 to make easy to read stories for my student. My heart is in special education and I love creating materials that are easy for students to understand.
I like to have structure and routine. At the same time, I know when to go with the flow. I like creating a calm peaceful environment by having a peaceful demeanor, positive attitude, using lamps instead of fluorescent lights, involving sensory activities, etc. The teacher sets the tone for the room every day and kids can feel your emotions.
The Mailbox Magazine has accepted some of my works.
I have a Masters in Elementary and Special Education from Roberts Wesleyan College. My bachelors from the University of Indianapolis is in Religion and Anthropology.
I am a Christian and my faith is important to me. Most of my work has been used in classrooms.
