-Fostered student curiosity and interest in learning through hands-on activities, and incorporating standard aligned STEAM projects and virtual field trips. -Built and maintained a classroom culture in which students love learning, thrive to achieve above expectations, and work strongly independently and in groups. -Planned, advertised, and executed a weekly after-school math club for students in second grade. -Had consistent and open communication with parents/ guardians about student progress and any potential problems or roadblocks through weekly newsletters, parent teacher conferences and being available daily via scheduled meetings or email contact. -Helped to create the transition track and lead the 3rd/4th grade transition track class. This “track is where we teach general education to students and help them work through behaviors to get prepared and ready to independently move back into a gen-ed school. -Created and implemented a yearlong curriculum for our school to use year after year in Science and Social studies for 3/4th grade. -The curriculum correlates with state standards and will involve asking analytical questions, incorporate prior knowledge, and gives many opportunities for hands on learning and STEAM projects. -Planned, advertised, and executed a weekly after-school clubs: Baking, Painting, Soccer, Spartan, and Gardening.
