TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have worked as Media Specialist for 7 years in a Title 1 elementary school. Two years ago I started a trauma informed initiative at my school that revolved around the classroom Morning Meeting, a 10 minute social emotional learning time. This daily meeting is practiced school wide in order to teach children the social emotional and self-regulation skills necessary for successful learning. I am now in a newly created position,Trauma Informed Program Coordinator, and am expanding our trauma informed efforts within and beyond our school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Develop a relationship with the child first and foremost. Have high expectations with a high level of support.
