Hey There! I don't know about you, but I always knew I wanted to grow up to be a teacher! I'd come home each year telling my mom, "I want to teach ___ grade." It was always the current grade I was in school. I got my first teaching experience as a "Cadet Teacher" in high school and I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University. After teaching for my first three years in a traditional public school, I wasn't loving it. That's when I found Montessori! Now, I'm on my twelfth year of teaching and I'm still striving to learn more, teach better, and do everything I can to make the world a better place!
I'm a Montessori Elementary Teacher so my style is to foster independence and to follow each child. I challenge everything with "What is the purpose of this work?" I strive to ensure each and every work and lesson presented to the students and asked of me to teach provides a deep and meaningful purpose. I challenge myself to learn more about social justice and anti-bias work so I can teach our students to be better humans in our current world. I strive to create a classroom environment where each child feels loved and welcomed and as a class we feel as connected as a family. I believe in learning from our "good mistakes" and that each opportunity to learn is a chance for us to "grow our brains."
