Messy Art Teacher

My name is Nancy Miller, the Messy Art Teacher. I've taught elementary art to grades PreK-5 for eight years. I was selected as the Teacher of the Year when I taught elementary art. I've taught high school animation and game design, graphic design, and photography for three years. I teach art for K-8th grades during the school year, and in the summer, I teach high school art for an art school. I reside in Southeast, GA, with my son and husband. I love art lessons that engage students with a variety of options and possibilities. I believe in hands-on learning. I give a little bit of lecture and have students start thinking and creating. I will do a presentation with lots of visuals and discuss what students are seeing and how and what the artists are trying to communicate in their work.

BFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a Teaching Certificate in Art Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University. MFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

I enjoy spending time with my family, sewing, cooking, working in clay and illustrating and writing children's books.
