Math by McKelvey

Hi! I have been a classroom teacher since 2009. I have taught both in a brick and mortar classroom, as well as Virtually in order to provide unique learning opportunities for my students. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science with a second major in Math, as well as a Master's of Arts in Teaching. Courses that I have taught include Probability and Statistics, Geometry, Algebra II, and Algebra I. I enjoy making foldables, Boom Cards, Google Slides activities, Google Sheets activities, PowerPoint activities, Excel activities, and activity templates!

My teaching style has evolved over the years as I have grown as a teacher. When in person, I love using interactive notebooks with colorful, organized foldables and notes. I enjoy using hands on, fun, and mentally engaging activities for practice and I like my assessments to directly align with my notes and practice activities so that students know what to expect. Since going digital, I have been working on bringing fun, engaging, interactive, DIGITAL activities into my classroom and I plan to continue integrating digital tools into my classroom in the future. I believe that as a teacher, I can always continue to learn and grow my "toolbox" in order to help my students succeed!

In addition to teaching high school math, I am also a mom to two heavenly children and two who are still with me. I love being a mom and enjoy teaching my own two littles in addition to my high schoolers!
