I am currently a 6th and 7th grade math teacher. This is my sixth year as a middle school math teacher. Prior to making the move to middle school, I taught 5th grade for 16 years. I love being in middle school now and teaching Math All Day!
My teaching has always been about the why and the how behind the mathematics, with a fun twist. Since moving to middle school, I have really learned how to take seemingly straight forward math lessons and turn them into exciting sessions with a theme or a game.
I was awarded Staff Member of the Week in my 2nd year at my school!
My Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education is from the University of Michigan. My first Master's Degree is from Johns Hopkins University in Teacher Leadership. My second Master's Degree is from the University of Maryland in Middle School Mathematics.
I love being the math person that knows all the tricks to solving problems. I'm also proud of becoming a go-to person for my coworkers when they are looking for fun ways to mix things up for their students.
