I've been in education since 2007. During my tenure, I've taught Algebra 1 through Pre-Calculus and started and ran an SAT program at my school. Today I'm a College and Career Strategist and owner of a tutoring and test prep company in Central Florida and love to spend my spare time creating and recording math and SAT curriculum to help support my clients and their needs.
I've always preferred to allow student voice and choice within the classroom; this means that students have the ability to choose what and when they will learn the curriculum. As a teacher, it would be my job to guide them through that process and to give support throughout my class sessions. I found that this allowed me to address student issues and concerns much easier.
While at Lyman High School, in Longwood Florida, we had over 10 National Merit Semifinalists and Finalists twice during the first three years of our program. Our school would typically earn 0-3 per year.
I have a B.Ed in Mathematics Education from the University of Central Florida (2007) and a M.Ed in Educational Leadership from The American College of Education (2010).
