I have taught both 3rd grade and ESL for 13 years in high poverty schools in Charlotte, NC, primarily in classes with high numbers of special needs students or students who speak English as a Second Language.
My teaching style has been jokingly described as "organized chaos." I have a strong focus on critical thinking, problem solving, and learning to be a nice human being. I like to let the students figure things out without me always having to explain them to foster independence, as well as creativity.
