Maria Teaches Middle

Social studies by heart, but science from the start! I am currently a middle school science teacher in Pennsylvania! I love teaching middle school, but also have experience in high school sciences. I have bachelors degrees in Secondary Education and History, and a masters in Curriculum & Instruction.

I am passionate about meeting the needs of individual students. I work in a Title I district where the majority of my students are performing below the state average. I make care-filled decisions to meet my students where they are and scaffold into higher-levels of thinking and learning!

I studied secondary education (B.S.) and history (B.A.) at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA! After starting to teach, I earned a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction at Gannon University in Erie, PA. I then fell in love with science teaching. I currently teach middle school science. I have PA teaching Certs in Middle Level Science, Biology 7-12, Social Studies 7-12, and Citizenship Education 7-12
