Many Roads to Reading

Thanks for stopping by my store! I have a close-up knowledge of early literacy, having helped hundreds of children learn to read and write. I use this experience, along with my love of words, to create materials for beginning readers. My time as a reading specialist, Special Education teacher, and classroom teacher taught me to create simple materials with minimal distractions. I also try to make each activity as productive as possible on many levels. My activities are never busy work! I feel grateful to have found a way to combine my knowledge about teaching reading with a love of writing, to create materials for children who are taking their first steps on the pathway to literacy.

My teaching approach is both highly structured and individualized. When lessons are consistent in design, the student knows what to expect and can therefore focus better on learning, with a minimum of stress. The predictable framework of my lessons fosters independence and a sense of competence in the student.
