What is the best or the most appropriate teaching style in foreign languages? Now it is very common to hear about 12 very well known teaching styles or approaches in teaching languages, and we can also hear a lot about Howard Gardner and his theory of Multiple Intelligences (1983). As teachers we deal with many different students with different backgrounds, strengths and weaknesses, skills and limitation. So as a teacher I like to present a variety of activities every time I teach a new topic in class and the idea is to cover all possible cognitive styles in my class: Visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic.
