TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a music teacher with 20 years of experience in the classroom and two M.A. Degrees (the first is Music Education and the second is Music Therapy). I use my education from both fields in my approach in the classroom to teach music literacy to English speaking students, non-English speaking students, and special populations. The materials I am sharing are those which I have created out of necessity for the past 20 years. For the past 3 years, I have been working in District 75 in the Bronx with Emotionally Disturbed students and students with alternate assessments.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style le is UNconservatory. The kids are taught practice, discipline, and focus in my class. There is also time to let kids be kids and just jam out in their own way. I expect my students to follow my behavior rules which are simple - respect yourself, respect others, and respect the property of the room.
