TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I worked 3 years as a Bilingual Computer Teacher for the MONTEREY COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION in California; also, I used to work 10 more years for the banking industry as a Programmer Analyst for Citicorp and as a Senior Programmer Analyst for Security Pacific National Bank. Before immigrating to America and becoming an American Citizen, I used to work 15 years for IBM in Chile as a Customer Engineer. When I retired, I keep on working part time as a Teacher Assistant at Greenfield Elementary School and as Spanish GED Teacher at King City High School, Adult Education. I also build websites using Microsoft Office 365, you can go to www.gedmaestro.com to see a full explanation of how my computer program,Teacher Assistant, manage to make easier your work as a teacher. You can download a free copy of this computer program for evaluation purposes.

MY TEACHING STYLE

When I teach something I always associate the subject I am teaching with real life situation. For example if I'm teaching fractions I always start with the concept of whole numbers of something familiar for children; one pizza or one box of 12 eggs or one watermelon that is going to be shared by 8 persons. After that children immediately understand that a fraction is a piece of something whole that is going to be shared.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I don't remember having any especial Honors/Awards but I pride myself of getting a couple of dozen diplomas, recommendations and of my working years I'm happy to remember that I have work for the best know companies in the world; IBM, Citicorp, Security Pacific National Bank, Xerox, MGM and have been a Consultant and Teacher either English or Spanish for many years. I have just been a regular working person.I also build websites using Microsoft Office 365, you can go to www.gedmaestro.com to see a full explanation of how my computer program,Teacher Assistant, manage to make easier your work. $39.99.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I was born and educated in Santiago, Chile. I studied at Technical University in Santiago. IBM World Trade Corporation, in Chile, hired me and trained me to be a Customer Engineer to take care of their equipment and the new computers of those days. I worked 15 years for IBM and when I retired to immigrate to USA I was already a Senior Customer Engineer. Here in America after going to college I became a Microsoft Certified System Engineer. I have at Teacher Credential in Information Technology. Also I got a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at Belford University in Texas.
